I can't test it because I'm unsure what thing you're specifically talking
about: Kicker? Kickoff? Old Kickoff? A 3rd-party launcher menu? Hence my
request for a screenshot so I can know what it is.

Spectacle has a timer function that lets you schedule a screenshot several
seconds in the future. You can use those seconds to open the menu in question.

Or you can take a picture with your phone.
