Hello,
I'm using Kubuntu 21.10 with compiled version of current master
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0

the volume works fine,  independently from the desktop pulse-audio volume.

My settings are:
audacity: 2.4.2
interface: ALSA
output device: default
