>From the Arch wiki it seems this should be set by a command and kept in /etc so
it's not wiped by system updates: "SDDM loads the keyboard layout specified in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf. You can generate this configuration file
by localectl set-x11-keymap command."

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug
