It looks like the graphics are using fallback software rendering mode. I have
periodically experienced this at as well--but also cannot reliably reproduce
the issue.

FWIW I haven't seen it in Plasma 5.19 or 5.20 at all though. We might have
fixed it in a version newer than 5.18.

Any chance you could upgrade to Plasma 5.19 (perhaps using the Kubuntu
backports PPA) and seeing if you ever experience it anymore?
