Bug ID: 424418
Summary: Selected files in desktop are not highlighted
Product: kde
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: critical
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: php4fan at gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
When I click, ctrl+click, or shift-click on an icon on the desktop, or when I
draw a rectangle to select a few, there is no visual feedback whatsoever. No
icon is highlighted as selected. It looks as if the desktop wasn't even
responding.
The files are actually selected, though.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. click on in icon on the desktop
2. ctrl+click on another one
3.
EXPECTED RESULT
Both should be highlighted as selected
OBSERVED RESULT
They are not. However, if you press the mouse button without releasing it over
one of them and start to drag, both will become selected and you will drag
both, revealing that they were actually selected.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. place the mouse cursor on an empty area of the desktop
2. PRess the left mouse button and hold it
3. drag as if to draw a rectangle, encompassing a few icons on the desktop
4. release the mouse button
EXPECTED RESULT
While drawing the rectangle, you should see the rectangle.
After releasing the mouse button, you should see the icons you had selected
highlighted as such
OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing, as if this was not working.
However, again, if you click and drag one of the icons you invisibly selected,
it will become clear all of them were.
