Bug ID: 355714
Summary: kdetalk - register new user button does not actually
send a XMPP reg request
Product: kde
Version: unspecified
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: eocallaghan at alterapraxis.com
Hi,
While attempting to try out the new kdetalk.net service with the Plasma desktop
chat function I attempted to register a new user via "Online accounts ->
KDETalk". Upon choosing a username and checking the box to "register a new
user" we are presented with a password request in a loop. This is because the
XMPP server never actually sees a register new account request (I check with
Ben Cooksley if he saw my new account request in his logs and he didn't see
anything.
As a workaround; one may open pidgin and use it to make the request a new XMPP
account on kdetalk.net, after this is successful you may use the kde telepathy
program with its corresponding plasmoid in the usual sense.
Let me know how I can provide more information.
Kind Regards,
Edward.
Reproducible: Always
