I figured it out. I had a file named "kactivitymanagerdrc.lock" in my .config
directory. I removed the file and all is well now. I suppose a crash or sudden
shutdown might have caused this. I guess the question is whether or not code
should be added to detect the lock file so that regular users don't have this
problem.
