I have the same settings as the original post:

breeze-dark plasma theme 
breeze widget style 
breeze color scheme

I don't want the breeze dark icon theme because if I pick that the symbolic
icons in the toolbar menus (e.g. dolphin) will be white on white.

It seems to me that there should be a version of the icon theme for those that
have a dark plasma theme and a light color scheme.
