The default setting on openSUSE (from 13.2) is to use the "Wicked Service" not
"NetworkManager Service"

Use YaST to change:

YaST -> Network Setting -> Global Options -> Network Setup Method (Change from
"Wicked Service" to NetworkManager Service)

Exit YaST and reboot.
