Yes, it is also invisible over firefox/iceweasel and synaptic (both GTK
applications)..
I have found a work-around that I have to do every time I turn on the monitor:
I have a shortcut key (control+P) set-up on mine to open a konsole window..
After the konsole window is open, I try to put my mouse cursor over the main
black console part of konsole (I right-click and see where the context menu
appears to see where the mouse cursor is), and then I push control+D to exit
out of konsole.. For some reason that makes the mouse appear.. However, if the
mouse cursor is NOT over the black part when I push control+D to close konsole,
the mouse does not reappear..
The way konsole works is, it makes the mouse disappear if it is over the black
part and you start typing, so it makes sense that konsole would make the cursor
reappear when you close it because it wants to make sure your mouse isn't still
gone when it closes..

Although actually, for me, the mouse cursor is even invisible on the laptop
screen too..
