I did a little research and:
Since we have kscreen we can disable the old randrmonitor module with:
qdbus org.kde.kded /kded org.kde.kded.unloadModule randrmonitor
qdbus org.kde.kded /kded org.kde.kded.setModuleAutoloading randrmonitor false
as suggested here (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/KScreen)

This leaves kscreen running properly and as magiaclly as it can, and
simultaneously surpresses those painful questions every time You plug in or
disconnect a monitor.
