Bug ID: 316857
Summary: "Key unsupported by Qt" message doesn't accept
keyboard input and grabs keyboard
Classification: Unclassified
Product: kde
Version: 4.8
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: b7.10110111 at gmail.com
"The key you just pressed is unsupported by Qt" message box doesn't accept
keyboard input and grabs keyboard leading to need to either use mouse or kill
systemsettings from virtual terminal.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
0. I'm not sure, but maybe you'll need to set Shift+Alt as keyboard layout
change shortcut
1. Launch System Settings
2. Go to Desktop Effects
3. Try to set default Shift+Alt+F12
4. On Shift+Alt pressed see a message "The key you just pressed is unsupported
by Qt"
5. Try pressing Enter or Esc to get this out of your way - see nothing happens.
The same for spacebar, Alt+O (to select OK button via accelerator).
6. Launch a browser using mouse (to file a bug report :) ) and realize that
keyboard is grabbed so you can't e.g. enter URL.
In fact, you can't recover from this if you don't have mouse (other than go to
virtual terminal and kill systemsettings).
Actual Results:
Keyboard appears grabbed until message is closed via mouse or systemsettings is
killed.
Expected Results:
The message should accept keyboard input and close at least on Enter, Esc,
Space and Alt+O presses.
