What actually gets ran

Because it is right below the other button, it is alarming that I saw it
selected, and then all of a sudden another program is selected.

The submenu selection area overlaps with the menu selection area....
It should not be..

Perhaps if you lower the menu selection area when the  submenu is open that
would work fine.
(it is simpler than trying to deal with detecting anglular motion)
