            Bug ID: 314051
Summary: option or default mode to centre things as much as
possible, such as in menubars, toolbars, etc.
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: kde
           Version: 4.8
          Platform: Slackware Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: dnc at hipplanet.com

I once suggested this on the KDE forum, but I am not sure I was clear or that
any developers read it. It would be nice if more things were centred in KDE
rather than mostly being to the left, which favours people that use a certain
hand or who read certain alphabets, and is still not as good even for them.
Particularly, it would be good if toolbars, menubars, menus and buttons on
them, etc.--maybe even the minimize, maximize and close buttons, if done
aesthetically--could be in the centre of their bar, rather than all the way to
the left, just because most people read from left to right, but if someone is
using KDE in Hebrew, for example, they will be, or should be able to, read from
right to left. I think having all this stuff to the left or right favours
people who use a certain hand. You added modifications to help people use the
mouse with their left hand, so why not more? Even though I read from left to
right, it is a pain to have menus and buttons all the way to the left on a huge
screen: if they were centred, the GUI would be more user-friendly, and I think
many/most people would prefer it to one that just seemed to be based on pre-GUI
models, unless they could no longer add things to bars and have room, such as
with Firefox add-ons. If you added some optional or default functionality like
this, depending on what parts you think worked well, it would be another way in
which you could become more ahead of Windows and MacOS.

Reproducible: Always
