Bug ID: 307511
Severity: normal
Version: 4.8.5
Priority: NOR
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
Summary: Sound card and connector Hardware - improper selection
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: myaravindg at gmail.com
Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Component: general
Product: systemsettings
I am using analog sterio out to hear sound from my Radeon HD 4200 series mother
board. I am using 'DVI out' to the display(Now HDMI port not used). But The
default selection of the Audio hardware setup section of Phonon in System
setting is "RS880 HDMI Audio[....]" for sound card and "HDMI/DisplayPort"
for connector. but even if we change it to "built in audio " and "Analog
output" for sound card and connector respectively, On restart it will revert to
the default one.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Changed setting
2.Restarted
Actual Results:
Change reverted to default on restart.
Expected Results:
System setting should either detect the connected connectors/devices and/or
allow custom setting. It should keep the changed setting on restart. If need
more user frienliness can ask for a conformation " Your new setting applied,
check whether its working by playing music or movie" and provide a 'Save ,
Revert & default option.
