Bug ID: 301866
Severity: crash
Version: 1.0
Priority: NOR
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
Summary: systemsettings segfault when testing Phonon playback
devices
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: sbrightwell at iinet.net.au
Hardware: Fedora RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Component: general
Product: systemsettings
Application: systemsettings (1.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.4 (4.8.4)
Qt Version: 4.8.2
Operating System: Linux 3.4.0-1.fc17.x86_64 x86_64
Distribution: "Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle)"
-- Information about the crash:
I am getting a crash when pressing TEST on kde systemsettings in the Phonon
Device Preferences tab, yet I can hear audio when I use the TEST function on
the Audio Hardware Setup tab.
If I use root however all is fine.
Possibly related is that I also get a segfault when attempting to start Amarok,
yet it works from root.
Problem has existed since preupgrade from Fedora 15. Have tried removing
phonondevicesrc in my kde/share/config folder. Not sure what else to try, I
gather some sort of permission problem?
The crash can be reproduced every time.
-- Backtrace:
Application: System Settings (systemsettings), signal: Segmentation fault
Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".
