This issue seems to be partially solved in KDE 4.9.97, but not quite. It still
occurs for first-level children.

That is, when you are in smb://YOURWORKGROUP and then click on the arrow to the
right of each listed computer, the first level of directories on this computer
is still displayed on the same level as the computer itself. Sub directories of
these folder are, however, displayed correctly in a tree view.
