Summary: Show error messages when an app crashes
           Product: kde
           Version: 4.6
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: virtual.avatar at yahoo.com.br

Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS: Linux

An executable app is started by KDE file through clicking in the file in the
file manager, or through start menu, or through ALT+F2 dialog box.
When a non-KDE graphic app crashes (due to segmentation fault or another
cause), its window suddenly disappear and no message is displayed.
When a non-KDE graphic app cannot start (due to broken installation, or lacking
shared library, or another cause) nothing happens, no error message is
displayed.

The error messages are displayed in the terminal if the graphic app is started
by a command, but if it is not, these kind of error is not displayed.

It is very annoying when a window disappear without a message or an app does
not start without saying that there is an error.

I want to ask to improve KDE usability to show error messages about the cause
of app crash, such as "segmentation fault" or "shared library not found".

Reproducible: Always
