--- Comment #5 from opis <jklava apollo lv> 2011-09-30 08:12:42 ---
Am running openSUSE 11.4 with all the latest and greatest updates on a HP
Pavillion dv6 portable with an Intel i7-26xx processor and a Radeon 6k series
video card.

First off, KDE does not lock up on my other AMD systems running the same
software, only the two latest Intel i5 and i7 systems.

The worst offenders are games, Shisen Sho and Patience. Shisen Sho will lock
up the system 100% every time on the first play. Sometimes the system will
lock up just after booting and logging in.

I decided to run Xosview beside it to see what goes on when
the KDE locked up.

It appears that the CPU running the game goes into a race condition, showing
nearly 100% utilization and it will go on indefinitely.

The mouse cursor still moves but buttons do not respond.

The only solution is to hold down the start button till system shuts down.
