This is sad, but seems that they do not know how to do it without sync :-( But
if you agree that the progress information is wrong and there is no way to
implement it correctly, we probably should send a feature request/bug report to
kernel devs? How you think, should we? Actually, this is weird to have such
problems after 20 years of development :)
