I think you all are using an old version of Plasma NM. (K)Ubuntu 11.10 ships
with a very old version from June of this year, that is more than 5 months old.
You really should ask (K)Ubuntu to provide packages for newer releases,
preferably 0.8.98, which I released last Saturday:
