This bug also affected me.
My laptop has 3 gb of RAM + 5 gb of SWAP. In a matter of 2 hrs all of that
memory is exhausted. The heap region of the kde4 process grows continually
until there's no more swap at which point the laptop freezes w/ non-stop disk
access taking place.
Disabling the power management service fixed it for me.
Laptop details:
HP G60 (amd turion dual-core RM-72)
kubuntu 11.04 64-bits (natty)

the kde4 process memory usage.
