I see the same problem with KDE 4.6 RC2 on openSuse 11.3, 32bit;

Activating the kio_smb debug flags and doing the file copy via
 kioclient copy sourcefile smb://....

I see the following output:

smb_signing_good: BAD SIG: seq 1
SMB Signature verification failed on incoming packet!
kio_smb(31488)/kio (kioslave) KIO::SlaveBase::finished: finished() called after
error()! Please fix the KIO slave. 

No idea what that means...
