Those shortcuts are of the "Icon Launcher" type, which are in fact, "official"
(developed by KDE)

I was talking about some other desktop widget you may have downloaded or
installed (like a Status monitor for resources, weather; some other toy, or
utility; or a custom task manager, a menu, a clock, and so on)
