Slackware is not broken. Who are you to determine that? The information
contained in the pkg-config files is arch-dependent. Therefore an
arch-dependent location is as good as any other location.
Anyway, the proper way to find the location of the .pc files is to examine the
$PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable - not to take a wild guess as to the
location of that directory.
