Slackware ships this file as:

/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/shared-mime-info.pc (64-bit)
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/shared-mime-info.pc (32-bit)

The directory is found by examining the paths listed in $PKG_CONFIG_PATH
