The Linux kernel is the part of the system that is responsible for managing
CPU, disk, and memory resources. "Vanilla" means the kernel without any
distribution specific patches, because often kernel developers think bugs are
introduced by those patches.
There is no solution other than waiting for this most hated Linux bug to get
the FIXED status. Sorry, but it isn't a KDE problem. If you need instructions
to work around it, please ask in a Linux forum, such as
