Summary: KickOff App Launcher's search misses it's primary use
case - where's the app for next time I want to launch
                    it!
           Product: kde
           Version: 4.3
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: noh.way.jose at dsl.pipex.com

Version: 4.3 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux

KickOff App Launcher's seach facility is great but as far as I can see, it
doesn't say where in the menu structure the application is, so users are
consigned to using search every time, or manually trawling the menu to see
where it is. The search results must summarise where the app can be found (even
if it appears in multiple categories), then next time the user can find it.

It is often the case that application writers have a different view about where
to install their app, than I'd expect. I've just installed TuxPaint for my
daughter and it shows up in Edutainment/Drawing Program (Art&Culture). I'd
certainly expect it to be in Edutainment but I'd really like it in the
Graphics/Image Editing category as well or at least. Search was of no
assistance finding TuxPaint, so I could copy it to my preferred category.

As usual, with these usability issues, I'd describe this as a defect, not a
design enhancement, as the primary use case is unachievable - finding and
launching an app and understanding where it is, so it can be navigated to and
launched directly in future. (just finding an app to launch it is not the
primary use case - or shouldn't be)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Search for an application and see how much location information it provides

Actual Results:
no information provided

Expected Results:
Menu location(s) for the found applications provided in a compact form. Perhaps
expanding on rollover or suchlike, if neccessary.
