Summary: Battery plasmoid doesn't recognise AC/Adapter plugged
in
Product: kde
Version: 4.5
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: t.kijas at gmail.com
Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux
Hi, I have this problem, it started when I upgraded to KDE4.5 (which is
fantastic), I had no problems with Battery plasmoid (plasmoid, the default-one
in panel, may be whole power devil) but after this upgrade, it doesn't
recognise my AC/adapter. The percentage is raising but he still thinks AC is
not connected to laptop, so doesn't change from "powersave" to "Performance".
It just recognise the battery is charging or discharging but nothing else about
(dis)connected AC.
"cat /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/ADP0..." shows the properly and right values,
on-line when plugged, offline when unplugged.
Also when I start KDE from GDM (you know, login in GDM to KDE:), the battery
applet works properly and recognise it.
The kernel I am using is OK I think because I used it before upgrade too.
Also other kernels now don't help so I think it isn't kernel-related issue.
Thank you very much for any kind of help or advice
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
log-in, unplug AC adapter -> battery plasmoid shows AC is still connected. Same
situation when starting without AC, then plugin -> battery plasmoid shows it is
not connected-
Actual Results:
The power schemes doesn't change...
Expected Results:
Recognising the AC/Adapter change
