[Bug 256434] New: upon upgrade from 4.5.2, 4.5.3 boots to a black screen

Version:           4.5 (using KDE 4.5.3) 
OS:                Linux

after upgrading one system using Kubuntu 10.10 to 5.4.3 - on reboot the screen
went blank, I upgrade a second system, opting to replace the login file, it
booted to the login screen, after typing in the user & password I clicked to
proceed to the Kubuntu desktop (now 4.5.3) and the screen went blank.

Next, when I press the shutdown button (on the computer) it shutsdown normally.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
upgrade from any kde version to 5.4.3 and reboot

Actual Results:  
after upgrading one system using Kubuntu 10.10 to 5.4.3 - on reboot the screen

Expected Results:  
Kubuntu desktop should have loaded.
