Can confirm this under KDE SC 4.4.2 from debian experimental. 

But in contrast to the initial report, I do not see a message which announces
the second suspend. The suspend after wakeup occurs a few seconds after wakeup,
irrespective of activity (e.g., mouse or keyboard actions).

Linux 2.6.33, Intel Core i5 with P55 chipset, AMI bios.
