-- Information about the crash:
I opened a few-second long .avi clip (i can provide it upon request). The
automatic resizing of the player's window shows about a quarter of the actual
clip, say quadrant from 9h to 12h. Then the application crashes unexpectedly.

The behaviour is perfectly reproducible. Unfortunately i don't have clips of
other format to see if they crash, too. 

This happened on a Kubuntu Lucid machine with all the official updates
installed.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
