Summary: Powerdevil doesn't detect if AC Adapter is plugged in
or not, when system is running
Product: kde
Version: unspecified
Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: kde.m5o at gishpuppy.com
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux
When I unplug my AC Adapter, it doesn't change to battery, instead, says it's
still charging. It doesn't change power states because of this and I don't get
a notification when my battery runs out. I ran 'acpi' and reports back properly
when the AC Adapter is online or offline.
"acpi -V" reports:
When plugged in:
Battery 1: charged, 50%
Thermal 1: ok, 49.0 degrees C
AC Adapter 1: on-line
When unplugged:
Battery 1: discharging, 50%, 01:06:04 remaining
Thermal 1: ok, 48.0 degrees C
AC Adapter 1: off-line
However, PowerDevil doesn't reflect this. It *does* detect this however when
the system is booting up, but once the system is running, it doesn't work.
More details on this bug can be found here:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=572321
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Unplug or plug in AC Adapter
Actual Results:
"AC Adapter" status doesn't change, but battery charging or discharging status
changes accordingly.
Expected Results:
"AC Adapter" status should change accordingly
