Summary: Display orientation reverts to default on startup
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: nhagen at rice.edu

Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I typically have my monitor tilted up 90 degrees so that it is taller than it
is long. However, every time I restart the computer, KDE restarts oriented in
the default orientation (i.e. it assumes that the longer side of the monitor is
oriented horizontally). So, after each reboot I have to go into the system
settings, and then go to the "Computer Administation" section, "Display"
subsection. As soon as I click on the "Size & Orientation" link (without
clicking "Apply" or anything), the display immediately reverts to vertical. So
it seems that as soon as the system enters the "Size & Orientation" page it may
be reading a configuration file that is not getting read during bootup...
