Summary: Cannot edit all standard keyboard shortcuts in text
                    edit widgets
           Product: kde
           Version: 4.5
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: davidomundo at gmail.com

Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS: Linux

I'm trying to set my keyboard shortcuts to emulate Mac shortcuts so that I can
use more thumb and less pinky for modifier keys. So far, I've been able to
change cut, copy, and paste to Meta-X, Meta-C, and Meta-V. Those changes work
well.

However, when I changed select all to Meta-A, it wouldn't work for text edit
widgets, only for other semantic "select all" actions, such as selecting files.
I would like Meta-A to select all text inside a focused text edit widget.

Finally, I found it impossible to change the shortcuts to enable skip-word
using Alt-Left/Right and move-cursor-to-beginning/end using Meta-Left/Right.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
In Standard Keyboard Shortcuts, change "Select All" to Meta-A. Go to a text
field and type some text, then press Meta-A.

Actual Results:
It doesn't select the text in the text field.

Expected Results:
It should select the entire text in the text field.
