Summary: KDE Menu Editor can't save changes (comes into
                    infinite loop) in some occasions
           Product: kmenuedit
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: tester64 at mail.ru

Version: unknown (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2) "release 234",
KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.2)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop

After several rearrangements of menu (adding/removing/renaming menus,
moving/changing menu items) KDE Menu Editor refuses to save changes. The
progress bar indicator infinitely loops, and no changes really happens
(according to applications-kmenuedit.menu and *.desktop files modification).

After the program restart most of newly added menu items (as well as some
already existing ones in related menus) are empty, and some garbage folders
appear.

Restoring default system menu (of KDE Menu Editor) doesn't work.

Removing ~/.local/share/applications/* and ~/.config/menus/* doesn't help.

So as nobody posted alike bug (except for some portuguese guy about three years
ago, I don't remember the bug number), it's related either to rarely factors
combination, or to system corruption (I've encounted recently the situation
when updating KDE from 4.3.5 to 4.4.2 led to KDE desktop crash, it dissapears
after switching to Factory repository). Or probably some locale issues.

But it's a very disappointing bug.

Platform: openSUSE 11.2, KDE 4.4.2-234.1.
