It may not be a problem, but you were running the configuration for KDM from
KDE3, in a KDE4 environment (so you should have a running KDM from KDE4). This
may cause some kind of conflict.

And BTW: from bug 156958: "kdmtheme for kde 3 is an externally maintained
package; this site is the wrong place for reporting bugs in it."
