just add one:
sudo touch /etc/X11/xorg.conf
then edit it as root (kwrite, vim, nano)

Section "Device"
   Option       "AccelMethod" "EXA"
EndSection

then reset X11 (ctrl+alt+backspace)
if they suppress zapping as well, switch to another VT (ctrl+alt+f1)
login and call
sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart
(it might be "xdm" rather then "kdm")
