I can confirm the problem.

This seems to be caused by xorg anyway: I found some bug reports for xorg in
ubuntu launchpad. They committed a patch to xorg-server that corrected the
problem for a lot of people... here, the problem remains.

So it's connected with xorg, or with nvidia drivers.
