Summary: Need a way to enter Unicode character codes
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: kde-2 at dotancohen.com

Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

There is currently no way to enter Unicode character codes in KDE. In Gnome one
can enter Unicode characters with Ctrl-Shift-U-unicodeNumber, and Windows and
OS-X have similar conventions. Currently, KDE users must know in advance which
Unicode characters they might need and configure them in KcharSelect ahead of
time. And since there is no way of typing the characters, the user must copy
and paste them from another application into KcharSelect.
