Summary: Login Manager: UID ranges -> better usability
Product: systemsettings
Version: 4.2.0
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: chris.reiter at gmx.at
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
in login manager you can configure the range of UIDs that are shown in KDM.
But it is a bit awkward to say: "system usersare below XXX/above YYY" when you
want to configure the behaviour of the login-able users - it's complicated
thinking.
System UIDs:
below: [1000 ]
above: [29999 ]
This is not what is the question. What it wants to ask is *what users should be
DISPLAYED*.
This IMO could be fixed by just changing the text, no coding needed:
"System UIDs" -> "Displayed UIDs"
"below:" -> "from:"
"above:" -> "to:"
This is exactly the same, but MUCH more understandable.
