I also had a similar bug awhile ago with the 4.2 branch but it was eventually
fixed in 4.2.2.

In NetBeans it is totally the same:

It was tracked down to:

https://jna.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=103

The dev suggested it was a KDE issue and it was eventually resolved by the
release of KDE 4.2.2.
