Updated: I was using kopete and clipboard stops working all of a sudden (it was
working at the beginning). It affects only kopete this time, because clipboard
still works in other apps like konqueror, konsole and firefox.
Disabling/enabling compositing made no difference.

I then restarted kopete and clipboard functioned again.
