As long as MALLOC_CHECK_ is enabled at all I can reproduce this bug, with all
of the following debugging options enabled: GLIBCXX_FORCE_NEW=1,
GLIBCPP_FORCE_NEW=1, G_SLICE=always-malloc, G_DEBUG=gc-friendly (latter two are
glib debugging aids).

I have yet to have a JuK crash (not even a segfault) with MALLOC_CHECK_
disabled.
