Summary: KDE4 changes mouse button mapping set by HAL's
input.x11_options.ButtonMapping option
Product: kde
Version: unspecified
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: sjakub at gmail.com
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Compiler: gcc-4.3.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
I use input.x11_options.ButtonMapping option in HAL for remapping some of my
mouse buttons in X. However, after KDE4 starts buttons are not mapped properly
- it works just as if there was no remapping option enabled (but lshal reports
that this option is set properly). If I unplug the mouse and plug it again
after KDE4 is started, everything works as expected, buttons are properly
remapped. This happens both in KDE started by KDM or by 'startx' command. If I
start X without KDE4 (I have tested this startign just 'xterm' and Antico
manager) button remapping works properly from the start, and doesn't require
replugging my mouse.
I haven't found any configuration option for button remapping (apart from
left/right handed mouse), and all my mouse-related settings (in
Keyboard&Mouse->Mouse) are set to default.
