Summary: unable to set date or time (manually or automatically)
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: 4.1
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: unspecified
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: Leon.N.Maurer.08 at alum.dartmouth.org

Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

I am using Kubuntu's KDE 4.2 RC1 packages, although I believe this problem
existed in 4.1.3.

The problem is this. Whenever I change _any_ setting or combination of settings
(the date, the time, the timezone, etc.) and hit apply I get a series of three
pop-up messages and the setting change does not stick. The messages are:
"Unable to contact time server: Public Time Server (pool.ntp.org).", "Can not
set date.", "Error setting new time zone." This happens regardless of whether
or not the "Set date and time automatically" is checked. I've had problems with
automatic time setting ever since I moved to KDE4.0, but being unable to change
any setting is relatively new.

Let me know if there's any useful information I can provide. Thanks.
