It's still present in 4.2 as well. But seeing as the bug has the label "Some
future release" on the Qt bugtracker I don't think it will be fixed soon.

As a workaround I set the fonts manually in various config files
(~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals, ~/.kde/share/config/kdesktoprc and
~/.qt/qtrc).
