do think about the nvidia driver or something related to kde? 
My suspect is that the DRI acceleration that nvidia driver provides needs some
kind of privileges that my user doesn't have: this could explain because the
root account runs 3-4 times faster

I tried EVERY driver nvidia have released, and the problem never changed


am I wrong?
