Summary: Thumbnail generation slows system to eventual lockup
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: tjaartblig at gmail.com

Version: (using KDE 4.3.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When loading many image thumbnails in either dolphin, gwenview or even in the
album cover manager in amarok, KDE slows down and eventually causes the entire
operating system to lock up(No keyboard input, mouse does not move).

The first time it happened was when I loaded a folder with a large amount of
large resolution images in Gwenview(1800x1200+).

The second time it happened in Amarok when I downloaded covers for about 250
albums.

It starts out well but gradually gets slower and my mouse pointer gets jittery.
The ui doesnt react to mouseover events as fast and eventually nothing moves
and nothing works.

System Info:
Kubuntu 9.04 Amd 64
