Summary: Regional and Language - Keyboard - Alt Win Behavior
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian stable
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: fatbuttlarry at gmail.com

Version: 4.2.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian stable Packages

Ubuntu 9.04 x86

System Settings --> Regional and Language --> Keyboard Layout --> Enable
Keyboard Layout --> Advanced --> Alt/Win Behavior

Option: "Left Alt is swapped with Left Win key"
Expected behavior: Remap Left Alt to Left Win key and Visa-versa.
Used for: Making a Mac keyboard behave like PC keyboard or visa-versa.

Actual Behavior: On a Mac keyboard, the "Commmand" key works as expected and
takes the place of the ALT key. This is tested with ALT+TAB which correctly
switches between windows, or ALT+D which navigates to address bar in Firefox
Web Browser.

The "Alt/Option" key shows as series of boxes and does not inherit what was
previously mapped to "Command" key. If WIN+R was binded to "Run Program"
dialog, this shortcut will break. Additionaly if WIN+D was binded to "Show the
desktop" this shortcut will break as well.

Prior to change, the ALT and WIN (Command) keys worked as expected. After
enabling the above option they do not. If the check box is unchecked, keys go
back to their original settings after restarting the X-Server, or restarting
the computer.
